The Library @ 47 Keong Saik

A quirky and hippie bar behind the facade of a library/book store.
Get a password from the snack shop along the street to gain access,
Yes they are very adamant about the password,

Upon providing the password, a secret door disguised as a bookshelf swings open,
and you enter a transitional portal with mirrors on four sides and red lights,
push open one of them and it leads you to a dimly-lit bar filled with little hanging lamps,
with tasteful music and flirty drinks.

Whisky and popcorn

Earl grey infused.

I think TheLibrary really tries hard to play up to your five senses.
A cocktail smells and look like earl grey tea until you take a sip.
The transitional portal and secret passage experience brings out exclusivity.
The way they adorn their drinks in floral motifs teacups, bathtubs and other fanciful containers.
How you pay your bill in a cup and how you sign your bill using a big red feather pen.

It could be a fresh playful concept and experience for some people,
or it could be borderline pretentious.
But for real drinking, I still prefer good ol' Overeasy.

On a side note, the bff and me came up with a term for boys who have not started earning their own
keep and like to spend their dad's money excessively: 花爸爸 loll

No offense to anyone reading this.
By spending excessively, I mean um for e.g paying for a whole table of drinks every other night...
(If you pay for drinks but not every other night, you do not qualify to be
classified under 花爸爸 but erm maybe just being a gentlemen lol)
